Room With a View was established in 1994 and has grown considerably since. We offer you fully equipped apartments, suites and standard rooms all in different in size and design. We are located in the city center of Reykjavík, surrounded by coffee shops, bars, restaurants and theaters. Our main building is the well known building Rúblan meaning „The Rubles“, built by the old book publishing company Mál og Menning, their famous bookshop, which was chosen one of the 12 best bookshops in the world by Berlingske Tidende in Denmark, is still part of our building.
The hotel is known for its personal service and we have a high number of returning guests who visit us again and again. We are proud to offer a 24 hour front desk service in which our staff will gladly assist you to with anything your require – booking tours, table reservations and even if you want to pick a locals mind, we are here for you. APARTMENTS – If cancelled up to 14 days before arrival, NO fee will be charged.
If cancelled, modified or in case of no-show, the entire price of the reservation will still be charged.HOTEL ROOMS – If cancelled up to 24 hours before arrival, NO fee will be charged.
If cancelled, modified or in case of no-show, the total of the first night will still be charged in full.Non-Refundable Reservations: The total price of the reservation will be charged is made. No refunds.
Pre-Payment: The hotel reserves the right to ”pre-authorize” all credit cards provided to confirm validity.All payments to the hotel are made in the local currency Icelandic Kronur ISK, charged in the equivalent based on the daily exchange rate used by the hotel. Currency conversions by banks or credit card companies in processing payments are not within the control of the hotel and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations.Room with a View is a NON smoking establishment, as are ALL public buildings in Iceland.
Smoking is prohibited and violators will be fined 30.000isk.

If you are arriving from Keflavík International Airport, we are approximately 50km drive, if you hire a rental car you should follow the signs for REYKJAVÍK, you can see and get our location, address and co-ordinates from the interactive map below.We do not have parking at Room With a View, if you are renting a car we recommend you download the app: EASYPARK prior to arriving in Reykjavik for simple parking.The FlyBus, Airport Express & Airport Direct shuttle buses depart from Keflavík regularly. They will drop you to the closest drop-off to our hotel BUS STOP 14 – Skúlagata, the transfer time take approx 1 hour and 15 minutes prices start from 3.500isk one way and you can prebook here.
Iceland uses 220v standard European outlets/plugs.
Most establishments in Iceland accept Icelandic Krónur, Euros, US/Canadian Dollars and British Pounds and all major credit cards are widly accepted.
If you do any shopping in Iceland, any goods purchased over the value of 6000isk which you intend to export, you ware entitled to claim a tax free form and you will receive a refund on departure at Keflavík Airport.
